Our roots are right here on the Arlberg, Johanna in Lech and St. Anton, and Klaus in Upper Austria.

Johanna took over the Bergschlössl from her grandmother in 1993. 1997 brought a complete renovation of this historical building, with great attention paid to preserving the character and charm.

Three years later, we were able to open the Basecamp, a ski bar on the piste, right on time for the 2001 Ski World Championships.

In 2004, Johanna and Klaus became acquainted and fell in love during production of an Arlberg cookbook, and have been working together since 2007. Previously, Klaus was head chef at leading establishments in Austria, most recently for 6 years at the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel in St.Christoph.

In 2012, we built a second pillar of our business, the Lech Lodge. A luxury chalet concept of a very special kind.

We are accompanied by three children, Kristina 2005, Maximilian 2008 and Florentina 2010.
